Bangkok

As many have said before, the city is one of seemingly endless contradictions, but its impossible not to feel (as they permeate, infiltrate, seep, tresspass, hemorrhage, and soak), celebrate the paradoxes the city (re)presents, and love Bangkok for it!

Facades:
Beautiful. Dirty.
Terribly gruesome traffic. Superbly pleasant public transport.
Traditional. Modern.
Dangerous. Safe.
Shockingly wealthy. Appallingly poor.
Bougie & expensive. Simple & cheap.
Peaceful Buddhist air & spirit. Unstable & violent just waiting to happen.
Politely rude.
(Please feel free to add here)

A few pix of what I saw in my 4/5 days in Bangkok. (More to follow shortly!)

Boston > Bangkok

0clusterfuck_logan.jpg

I finished up my last shift at Via Matta on Thursday evening (July 1st)
Met Ivins and some peeps from Via at Bistro Du Midi for a bon voyage drink
Went home, packed, re-packed, tried not to fall asleep
Green-cabbed it to Logan an hour later than I meant to
Paincked a bit as the line at 5:30am was out of control, "rushed" through security (no, I do NOT have anything sharp in my bag that I am aware of... and NO, nobody else packed the bag for me, thank you! And OK, you can throw away my sun-tan lotion because it is 3 milliliters more than alotted amount.)
Expeditiously proceeded to my gate... and waited to board for an eternal hour or so... Logan is a nightmare.
